Whistler is the ultimate holiday destination, with the mountains creating the perfect backdrop to an idyllic village scene. It’s hard not to feel like you’re in a real-life snow globe. February is a great time to come to Whistler, with plenty on offer both on and off the mountain. Here’s what there is to keep you entertained in Whistler this month.
Snow Conditions
Ski conditions in February are perfect. You have the choice of 2 amazing mountains with 4757 acres of skiable terrain. Cold temperatures mean that snow conditions are prime and all lifts are now open so there’s plenty of options to choose from.
Bobsleigh Cup
If you want to watch professional bobsleigh athletes compete, there’s no better place to do it than Whistler. Home to the fastest bobsleigh track in the world, head to Whistler’s Sliding Centre on Blackcomb Mountain on February 17 for BCBSA BC Cup #3 Bobsleigh & Skeleton. You can watch competitors speeding across the ice – most complete the course in under a minute. February also hosts the CLA Canadian Cup Luge on February 23 and you can watch both events for free.
Give It A Go
Feeling inspired to give it a go? Whistler Sliding Centre is hosting Discover Bobsleigh 11-2 pm and Discover Skelton 9- 11 am on February 6, with Discover Luge on February 11 at 4.30 -6.30 pm. Create a Whistler experience like no other and feel like an Olympian on ice!
Hometown Hockey Tour
You can’t get much more Canadian than a fun hockey filled weekend. The Roger’s Hometown Hockey Tour is a fun event for all the family where you can meet NHL hockey alumni, enjoy hockey-related games and listen to live music. Head down to the Olympic Plaza on February 9 & 10 to enjoy this free event. You can see full details of all the events here.
Family Fun
If you’re looking for activities to keep the kids entertained, both Family Après and the Fire and Ice Show are perfect options. Family Après runs every Monday and Wednesday from 3 – 6 pm until March 27. Experience winter outdoor fun, and enjoy characters in costume, games, snacks, and music. Wow your little ones with the Fire and Ice Show. Prepare to be impressed by professional skiers and snowboards, performing tricks whilst jumping through a burning ring on fire. Catch the show on Sundays at 7 pm at the Skier’s Plaza at the base of Whistler Mountain.
Whatever you plan on doing in Whistler this February, there’s always plenty to keep you entertained. Don’t miss the February fun!
